November!

This month in physical education, all students will begin their throwing units.  Students in grades 3-5 will work on overhand throwing with a variety of objects and students in K-2 will work on self-tossing, underhand throwing, and overhand throwing.  All students will also begin their nutrition units.  The younger students will learn about always healthy foods versus sometimes healthy foods and will review the food groups.  The older students will practice reading food labels and will explore how much of each food group they should be aiming for daily.  For more information tailored specifically to your child, go to www.choosemyplate.gov.
There, you will find tools that:
  • help you find healthy foods on a budget
  • allow you to look up specific foods
  • help you get personalized plans
  • allow you to learn more about the food groups

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving!
