Jump Rope for Heart!

Today is our last day jumping for our annual Jump Rope for Heart community service project!   Students put forth a great effort to raise money for the American Heart Association’s fight against heart and blood vessel diseases.   They are truly heart heroes!   Thank you to everyone who participated and helped in this wonderful cause!

Trans Fat Survey

If you have a moment, please click on the link to complete the short survey below as part of the Healthy Futures Initiatives. Thank you! Ms. Michalos THE SKINNY ON FAT Fats and oils are part of a healthy diet and play many important roles in the body. Fat provides energy and is a carrier of essential nutrients such as vitamins A, D, E, K, and carotenoids. Avoid trans-fat as it is shown to be bad for heart health. If the words partially hydrogenated oil appear in the ingredient list, the food contains trans-fat. Support our Healthy Futures Initiatives trans-fat public education campaign by taking our quick survey at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/HealthyFuturesTransFatCampaign Interested in learning more about this campaign or getting involved in our Healthy Futures Initiative, contact Lauren Marciszyn, Director of Youth & Community Wellness at LaurenM@hockymca.org All fats are not created equal.
